Beorg Bearstruck and the Bearmen of Urslo are a Norse mercenary unit. Only Beorg Bearstruck, the chieftain, turns fully into a werebear in battle, others have no or minor transformations. The normal troops wear light armour and wield shields and axes. Beorg is guarded by the Bear Fang talisman, which is the symbol of lordship amongst the tribe. The unit is also accompanied by Oerl the Young who has proven himself a worthy banner bearer and carries the Bear Banner.

Renegade Dwarf Bear Riders, Armoured Teeth, Growling Midgets
From his days as a mercenary, Beorg meet a strange Renegade Dwarf Female called Ursula. She lead a team of bear riders throughout the continent. Extremely powerful heavy cav armed without powerful runic weapons, Ursula's Grizzley Crew (Chaos Knights) have a fierce reputation.
Half-men, Werewolves, Howlers
Throughout the history of Urslo, there have been many werewolf tribes surrounding their land. During Beorg's rein as King of Urslo he ransacked these tribes. The people of these tribes were given a choice, a lifetime of servitude for them and their lineage or death. Those that stood against him were swiftly dealt with. Those that chose to side with him have forever been marked as slaves and often run forward as the vanguard for Beorgs armies.
There are two types of werewolves in Urslo, Lupin (Chaos Hounds) and Ulfenwerner (Forsaken). Lupin are so ravaged by the powers of Chaos, they barely resemble their human forms and often are so over come by the feral transformation, they often forget how to transform back into their human form. These mindless beasts make great expendable shock troops for Beorgs forces.
Although not as feral as their counterparts, Ulfenwerner are just as formidable. Their ferocity only matched by their speed and cunning. Prefering strength in numbers, even more than Lupin, they often move in larger packs of 10 - 15. They have forminable speed and strength as well as toughened hides, that make them less vulnerable than their counterparts.
Ogre Half-Bears, Big Foot, Ugly
There are many strange creatures in the world. None so more than the Usrogryn (Chaos Ogres). Not merely were or dire, they are in fact the offspring of Ogres who have breed with Bears. Although very rare through most of the continents, they are abundant in the north.
Much like their cousins, the normal Ogre, they are not particularly intelligent. But what they lack in brains they make up for in brawn and toughness. They have a much tougher hide than their eastern cousins combined with their crude armour and weapons, makes them tougher to kill. What's even better/worse is their insatiable blood frenzy. Once they smell a hint of blood, they want it.

The omnivorous Dire Bear (Chaos Trolls) usually does not bother creatures that try to avoid it, but will aggressively defend a kill or other source of food. It will not hesitate to rip apart anything that might contain something edible. Beorg often uses Dire Bears as a heavy shock troops, using their massive strength and speed. Beorg's son, Bjorn, also has the ability to communicate with them, making it easier to get them do Beorg's will.
Frosties, Mountain Giants, Avalanchers
Much like all other giants in the old world, Frost Giants (Chaos Giant with Mark of Nurgle) are big, tough and short on patience. Unlike other giants, the Frost Giant boosts a certain level of cunning an intelligence, often lacking in their brethren. They are also protected by an Aura of Frost, protecting them, some what, from would be attackers. Frost Giants are only found in the most northern reaches of Norsca and are usually swayed into battle through subtle persuasion rather than the usual 'all you can eat' incentive.

Berserker, Bearkin, Bear Whisperer
Bjorn (Throgg the Troll King) was only 5 when Beorg first found him. They were ransacking a rival village when he came across a small child standing in his wake. Beorg laughed at the child and then sent him reeling from an all-mighty roar. The child stood up and roared back. Beorg laughed at the child once more at his feeble attempt to scare him off. That was until he found himself surrounded by half a dozen dire bears.
Beorg slaughtered each bear without breaking a sweat. He then turned to the child. But was child no longer. What had been a 3" child had turned into a 6" bear. Still looking down at him, Beorg smirked and charged his opponent. The two struggle for a while before Beorg got the boy into a sleeper hold. Once unconscious, the boy turned back into a human. Impressed by the boys strength and abillity, he took back to his fortress in Urslo.
From then, Bjorn became Beorgs adopted son. If a few years, he grew into a mighty warrior, often leading masses of Dire Bears into battle at his fathers side. Very few believe it will be long before Bjorn tries to sieze the throne for himself. But if they is his true intent, he has never indicated it.
Fire Bug, Old Twizzle Stick, Bunny Magnet
Though he would never admit to it, no matter great a warrior and leader he was, Beorg was never one for directions. So once while getting lost on route to a battle, he chanced upon a deranged wizard firing fireballs at rocks a top a mountain range. When asked his name he answered simply "Tim....the ENCHANTER!".
In exchange for safe passage to the battlefield, Beorg and his men were asked to sort out a little problem. The killer were-hare. Though he thought this an easy task, the were-hare proved a destructive opponent. He lost 8 men battling it, before he called for the the Unholy Orb of Antioc. Blessed by the Dark Gods, the orb flew through the air destroying all trace of the were-hare. From that that day forward, Tim fought side-by-side with Beorg, as well as helping with the use of his skills as a Sooth Sayer.

The men or Urslo have acess to two forms of magic banners:
Note that a unit with one of these banners does not confer the rule to any characters who join the unit. This is different, however, if the character has the Berserker Rune (Mark of Khorne) he may join a unit with the Grizzly Banner or if he has the Aura of Frost (Mark of Nurgle) he may join a unit with the Frost Banner. However a model with the Berseker rune may not join a unit with the Frost Banner and visa versa for the Aura of Frost.
