When first I heard of the new codex for the Eldar, I started to make the army. I wanted something that was easy to paint but still looked good. At the time I was painting a Pyre Chaos Space Marine army for a friend, and so I decided to use a similar colour scheme. It was the first and last time I have used white as an undercoat.
The first time I used them at a tournament was at an Ambush (small one day events run by my club) where I got 2nd place and best painted .Warclouds 2007 was the next time I got to use them. They performed a bit better than expected, getting me 2nd place.
Originally made for 400pts, the army now exceeds 2500pts and one and a half force orgs!

The Eldar of the Illandus Craftworld were once the sister Craftworld of Biel-Tan. Illandus is located towards the eastern rim of the galaxy, at the edge of the Maelstrom. Amongst the Eldar, the Illandus have a well deserved reputation for being warlike.
Their name means 'Extinguish' in the Eldar tongue, represented by an unfurled Yin-Yang symbol crushing a webway portal. This demonstrates how they feel they are crushed between the forces of order and chaos and must fight to survive.
Each craftworld carries the seeds of Eldar culture. Not all are identical by any means, as each reflects the cultural heritage of its long dead world of origin. Illandus is renowned for the strong warrior ideals of its people. For the Eldar of Illandus the Way of the Warrior, the life-stage that encompasses the Aspect Warriors, is considered the first step upon the Path of the Eldar. Upon reaching physical maturity an Illandus Eldar becomes an Aspect Warrior, mainly in the form of Dire Avengers or Fire Dragons, and only once he has fulfilled this role can he continue along the Path of the Eldar. To this end, the Eldar of Illandus place greater importance upon the Path of the Warrior much like that of Biel-Tan, and that in order to survive it will need to be done in the heat of battle and with much bloodshed. They will often be joined with the Avatar for battle.
The symbol of Illandus is the Eldar rune of envolopement and its name actually means to 'Extinguish'. Illandus Guardians wear orange uniforms with details in black and yellow. Vehicles are often coloured entirely orange, with large areas broken up using a pattern of flame in bright yellow.
There are many threats that the warriors of the Illandus Craftworld must contend with, not just just of Chaos, but other forms of the Mon-Kiegh. After being on patrol on the fringes of the Maelstrom, a group of Pathfinders from Illandus came across a battle ravaged Exodite world. The colony was nearly wiped out, and the only evidence they could muster was
an auto-reactive shoulder pad belonging to a member of the Relictors Space Marine legion. They later learned that several artifacts were stolen and several scriptures that make mentions an ancient weapon of the enemy called“The Hand of Tyr”.
Following instructions from their comrades they set of in search of the vile Relictors in an effort to retrieve the stolen artifacts and prevent them from obtaining “The Hand of Tyr”.
